Rwanda Automobile Club (RAC) has unveiled routes for the 2019 Mountain Gorilla Rally, which is due next month.

The three-day race will rev-off on Friday, October 5, at Amahoro Stadium with the Super stage (7.11 km), and will be concluding on Sunday.

On Saturday, crews will traverse through Super Section 2 to 5 passing through the rough roads of Nyamizi, Gaharwa, Gako and Gasenyi located in Bugesera District, of the Eastern Province where they will cover a total distance of 305.44 kilometres.

On the last day, drivers will then pass through the towns of Gehengeri, Ntunga and Musha, cruising through Super Sections 6 and 7 on a total distance of 200.24 kilometers.

Speaking to Saturday Sport, Eric Gakwaya, head of the race’s organizing team, explained that that race will be meet the international rally standards, with designed spectator points where fans will be treated to some exhilarating displays of rallying artistry.

The race is expected to be dominated by crews from Uganda, Burundi and the hosts, Rwanda.

Belgium-born driver Davite Giancarlo, navigated by Sylvia Vindevogel, won last year’s Mountain Gorilla Rally, a race that always marks the official end of the Africa Rally Championships season.
